A Novel DEMATEL Approach by Considering Normalization and Invertibility

DEMATEL is a popular approach in multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) to understand the influence relationship between elements. In addition, result of used as input other approaches explore further applications. However, may fail derive reasonable total matrix, i.e., all positive Hence, uses special normalization method avoid that situation. It has been reported selecting plays critical role after we determine research method. This paper compares different methods and proposes novel formula matrix when conventional cannot obtain correct result. The numerical examples demonstrate how generate contradicted results proposed ensures also shed light on applications based this paper.
